ABOUT THIS EVENT: The 2016 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XXXI Olympiad, is a major international multi-sport event in the tradition of the Olympic Games due to take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from August 5th to August 21st, 2016. A record numbers of countries are participating in a record number of sports. More than 10,500 athletes from 206 National Olympic Committees (NOCs), are scheduled to take part and will feature 28 Olympic sports.
CONTEST OBJECTIVE: At the end of competition on August 21st, how many total, combined medals will the countries of China, Great Britain, and Germany have won?

A: All entries must be in by 11:30 pm CT on August 17, 2016.
Q: Do I have to hit the number exactly or can I win by just being close?
A: This isn’t the game Horse Shoes. To win Time Machine, you must provide the exact, right answer.
Q: When will the winner(s) be revealed?
A: The winner (or winners) will be revealed here on August 22, 2016.
Q: What should an entry look like?
A: Your entry should be a one-, two-, or three-digit number. For example, if you think the three countries will win a combined total of 99 medals (bronze, silver, and gold), enter the number “99.”

A: After the entry period ends for the 2016 Summer Olympics predictions, a new Time Machine contest will start on or about August 18, 2016.
Q: My time machine is in the shop (Flux Capacitor leak). Can I borrow a friend’s?
A: Yes, our rules allow you to use another person’s time machine. However, you must travel to the future yourself. You cannot send someone else to the future to get the answer for you.
